Prenatal Bodywork

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I can't stress enough the value of getting regular bodywork during pregnancy to connect with your baby, make space for your baby, AND prepare for a better birth. Although very relaxing, the work I do is less “therapeutic massage” and more focused on the belly, hips, glutes, and back so you feel better as your body grows and we set you up for success.

I have three goals with prenatal bodywork:

  1. Relieve pain and & discomfort in your growing body.

  2. Promote relaxation to increase circulation to the womb and reduce stress hormones from being sent to your baby.

  3. Free restrictions in your body so your baby can get into the correct birthing position (more than just head down), and you can have a better, easier, birth.

First Trimester

Craniosacral Therapy: This gentle soft tissue work is excellent for helping with nausea, fatigue, headaches/migraines, unstable emotions, anxiety, balancing the pelvic floor, calming the nervous system, and back pain.

Second Trimester

The morning sickness might be gone, but now your body is adjusting to your baby growing. This gentle bodywork focuses on the belly/uterus and back. It is excellent for pain you may be experiencing in your: round ligaments, pubic bone, pelvic floor, low back, or tailbone. It's also super relaxing, and can help with acid reflux, shortness of breath, and anxiety.

*I understand being squeamish of this. This gentle massage feels amazing, and is completely safe for baby. I do not massage or try to move the baby. It sends extra bloody supply to your uterus, and your baby will love it.

Third Trimester

Reduce pregnancy pain, calm the nervous system, center the womb, make sure baby is in a good position, and balance the pelvic floor. It's important to get your body mobile enough for birth, and allow enough space for baby to be in the best position to be born. Good for both planned vaginal and cesarean births.
